In Soon It Will Be Deep Enough (2019), a group of youngsters party in an airplane cabin while water slowly rises and submerges the space. It was made while being confronted by anxiety and crisis related to climate change, plane crashes, and the wildfires in Los Angeles – a city with a strong pool party scene and where I was living at the time. Initially conceived as a reflection on the global climate crisis, the work may also coincidentally correspond to other critical situations we find ourselves in today.
